Young woman robbed in Albouystown

Two bicycle bandits on Monday afternoon blocked the path of a young man who was towing his 24-year-old sister in the vicinity of James Street, Albouystown, Georgetown and robbed her of approximately $50,000 in Guyana currency and US $250 along with her mobile phone and a gold chain.
Based on information received, the siblings were travelling on a bicycle heading east along James Street when the two suspects confronted them.

One of the men withdrew a gun and the other whipped out an ice pick and ordered the 24-year-old vendor to turn over her bag and jewellery.

She quickly complied and the men fled the scene on their bicycles.

Investigations are ongoing.
