The victim, a teacher, told Citizens’ Report that the woman became aware that the security footage was made public and visited the Vreed-en-Hoop police station today. Both him and the woman spoke to an officer there.
According to him, the phone was already “wiped” and prepared for someone else to use. He noted that the woman insisted that she did not steal the phone, but was unable to explain her actions, which were caught on the security camera.
The victim also disclosed that he opted not to press charges, since the cellular phone was returned. However, he maintained that the woman’s action, particularly the fact that she used her child in the commission of a crime was an unconscionable act.
Members of the public, according to him, are to be thanked for their assistance in the matter.
