The man was reportedly found alone in a house at Springlands, Corentyne at around 11:30 hrs.
It had previously been reported that Singh had killed his lover, 16-year-old Rosana Lakhpal of Berbice, during an argument on the morning of July 29.
The duo had reportedly met via Facebook and shortly after Lakhpal dropped out of school and ran away from home to live with the older man at his residence in Eccles, East Bank Demerara.
However, after her mother repeatedly pleaded with her to return home, the young Lakhpal finally agreed, but only on condition that her boyfriend could live with her.
Faced with such a choice, and concerned for her daughter’s wellbeing, Lakhpal’s mother reluctantly agreed to her daughter’s condition for returning to her home, where the couple was provided the lower flat in which they resided until that fateful day when Lakhpal met her death, allegedly at her lover’s hand..
Prior to that tragic day, neighbours had complained to the teen’s mother that when she [mother] was not at home, Singh would abuse Lakhpal, but the teenager always refuted these complaints, vouching that Singh was a loving and kind individual.
One of the contentious issues that caused arguments between the couple was the fact that Singh was unemployed and on the morning that the 16-year-old school dropout met her demise, she was reportedly arguing with her reputed husband to go out and find a job.
This apparently precipitated a murderous attack by the 25-year-old, who seemingly became enraged with the “nagging” and ended up slitting his girlfriend’s throat. He subsequently left her lying in a pool of her own blood and fled the scene.
Singh was reportedly wanted for another incident some years ago, where he stabbed his then girlfriend some 50 times about her body. However, no charge was ever laid against him.
