‘Tear drop’ granted bail after robbery charge

A short lived social media celebrity was on Wednesday granted $75,000 bail, when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on a robbery charge.
Leon Clarke, commonly called “Tear drop”, 23 of Georgetown pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that on September 8 2017, he broke into an East La Penitence home belonging to Vincent Howard and robbed him of $980,000 in cash, $175,000 in GTT phone cards, $50,000 in Digicel phone cards and $80,000 in scratch tickets.

The young man, who is reportedly an employee attached to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, was reportedly identified by Howard’s daughter who recalled that he had been famous for his offkey music videos, which went viral on social media sometime mid 2016.

The accused is expected to return to court on October 4 2017.
