North Ruimveldt man stabbed to death

Police now have one man in custody with regards to a stabbing incident on Wednesday afternoon which has left one North Ruimveldt, Georgetown resident dead.

The dead man has been identified as Afeez Douglas, 29 of lot 2981 North Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

According to information received, Douglas was reportedly liming at a shop along Last Entrance, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown with two brothers who became involved in a heated argument which resulted in a physical alternation.

The now dead mason allegedly attempted to be a peacemaker and got in the middle as blows were being thrown by the siblings.

Shortly after, one of the brothers grabbed a sharp weapon and his attempt to stab his own brother was futile as he ended up puncturing Douglas’ chest.

The 29-year-old reportedly began to bleed profusely and fell into a nearby drain, hitting his head. He became unconscious and was subsequently rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Douglas leaves to mourn 5 siblings among other family and friends.

An investigation has been launched.
