Rajendra Persaud, whose body was found to be in an extremely deteriorated state, was found after a cattle farmer in the area became aware of a foul stench emanating from the area. The body was discovered and later identified by his relatives at around 11:00 hrs today.
According to Persaud’s father, the man’s identity was confirmed by the clothes he was wearing, along with a bank card found in his haversack.
This publication was told that the 49-year-old, who is originally from Berbice, has been living in Kitty, Georgetown for several years as he has been employed by Sterling Limited on the East Bank of Demerara.
Relatives explained that the now dead man would call his mother on a daily basis and so suspicion of foul play aroused when he failed to call on November 11 2017.
An investigation is presently ongoing.
