Toddler accidentally killed in Kitty

Police are now investigating an incident which occurred on Friday morning resulting in the alleged accidental death of an infant in Kitty, Georgetown.
The dead 1-year-old has been identified as Malakai Willis of Kitty, Georgetown.

Based on information received, the child’s father was in the process of reversing his mini-bus out of their yard on D’Andrade Street when he reportedly ran over the child.

The toddler’s father told police that he did not realise that the child had wandered behind the vehicle. However, reports are that as soon as the man became aware of what had transpired, he immediately pulled his child out from under the bus and rushed him to the Georgetown Police Station.

Willis succumbed to his injuries shortly after and his father was taken into police custody.
Family members of the deceased were too flustered to speak with this publication.
