Armed bandits robbed Land of Canaan pensioner

A 78-year-old pensioner was on Friday last held at gun point and robbed of his CRV motor car, PSS 1375, one 42” Masher Tech Flat screen television, Guyana passport, a quantity of grocery, liquor, two suitcases and $70,000 in cash.

The victim has been identified as Hardial Doss, 78, of Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara.

According to information received, the incident occurred at around 20:00hrs on the evening in question.

This online publication was told that Doss had just left the Demerara Bank located in Diamond with his motor vehicle and had returned home.

As he was about exit his vehicle, two men pounced on the elderly man and one pointed a gun at him.

The perpetrators took Doss into his home, tied him up with his belt and then proceeded to ransack the pensioner’s home.

They then stole the above mentioned items and fled the scene in the victim’s motor car.

Shortly after, Doss untied himself and contacted the police.

The man’s motor vehicle was found abandoned on the Soesdyke Junction, East Bank Demerara.

Investigations are ongoing.
